ProfitKey International Approved Connections
ProfitKey International is constantly striving to provide our customers with the highest level of Technical Support Services. We understand that security is a major concern for many of you and leaving your connection open for ease of access is not always an option. Therefore it may be necessary for ProfitKey personnel to contact your business to request access into your system. Although this may delay the time frame for providing assistance it should provide you with an acceptable comfort level.
In order for ProfitKey to properly connect to your system it is necessary for your company to provide access via one of the following connections.
- pcAnywhere installed on the PK Windows server and/or a Windows client on the network. The preferred method is to be configured for access via the internet. A dial-up connection is an option but due to the slow transfer rates this is not recommended. There is a cost to you to purchase the Symantec pcAnywhere software.
- Remote Desktop Connection. This is setup on your server to allow either a Terminal Server or Remote Administration connection. The latter is limited to 2 simultaneous connections. There is no cost to you for Remote Administration. There is a cost to add Terminal Server to your Windows Server, but this is only necessary if you intend to use this for any other users.
- GoToMyPC. This is setup on your server and/or a client on the network and utilizes a web browser to connect into your network. This solution is provided by Citrix On-Line and there is a cost to you to license the server software.
- Citrix Client. If you are using a Citrix Server on your network we have the Citrix Client installed and available for our use. There is a cost to you for running Citrix Server.
The first 2 methods may be used in conjunction with either an MS or a web based VPN to first establish a secure connection to your network.
At this time, we do not support Cisco Client, LogMeIn, Sonicwall, or any of the other applications available on the market.
If none of the above methods work for you, our Tech Support is able to setup a web-based one on one session with you using Live Meeting. With this method they are able to remote connect to your desktop with your authorization. Live Meeting is the Microsoft web-based conference solution we use for all of our on-line training sessions. It does require installation of some ActiveX controls the first time it is used.
